The government of Rajasthan recently announced that its employees will receive full pension benefits after 25 years of service, rather than the previous requirement of 28 years. The decision was made during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Other amendments to the Rajasthan Civil Services (Pension) Rules include the provision for 75-year-old pensioners or family pensioners to receive an additional 10% allowance. In the event of the pensioner’s death, their eligible disabled children and family members earning up to Rs 12,500 per month will also receive the benefit of family pension.

The Rajasthan Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2017, was also amended to increase the special pay of the personnel. The decision for these changes was made during the presentation of the state budget for 2023-24 by Gehlot. In addition, other decisions related to promotion, special pay, and designation were also taken during the cabinet meeting.

Veer Gurjar Vikas and Dharmarth Trust in Bhilwara, and Regar Samaj in Bikaner, will be granted land for hostels, and the cabinet also approved the proposal to rename the Dausa medical college after Pandit Naval Kishore Sharma. The notification of this amendment will be effective from April 1, 2023.
