The Congress party announced on Monday that Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and party leader Sachin Pilot will work together to fight the upcoming Assembly polls, in an effort to quell rumors of a rift between the two. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, along with top party leaders Rahul Gandhi and KC Venugopal, had a four-hour-long meeting with Gehlot and Pilot to discuss the upcoming elections. Venugopal told reporters afterward that both leaders were in agreement and that it would be a joint fight against the BJP, with the Congress poised for victory in Rajasthan. The state assembly elections are expected to take place later this year.
