The swearing-in ceremony of the Rajasthan state cabinet took place on Saturday at the Raj Bhavan in Jaipur. A total of 22 ministers were inducted in the Bhajanlal cabinet, including 12 cabinet-rank ministers, five Ministers of State (MoS) with independent charge, and five MLAs as ministers of state. The cabinet expansion saw the induction of prominent figures such as Rajyavardhan Rathore and Kirodi Lal Meena.
Rajyavardhan Rathore, who emerged victorious from the Jhotwara seat in the recent Assembly polls, was sworn in as a minister in the cabinet expansion. Reflecting on the development, he remarked, The cabinet will represent all sections and will be able to fulfill the aspirations of the people of Rajasthan. Kirodi Lal Meena, Madan Dilawar, Gajendra Singh Khinvasar, Babulal Kharadi, Jogaram Patel, Suresh Rawat, Avinash Gehlot, Joraram Kumawat, Hemant Meena, Kanhaiya Lal Chaudhary, and Sumit Godara were among the Cabinet ministers sworn in.
The expansion also saw the addition of ministers with independent charge, including Sanjay Sharma, Surendra Pal Singh TT, Jhabar Singh Kharra, Gautam Kumar, and Heeralal Nagar. Furthermore, Otaram Dewasi, Manju Baghmar, Vijay Singh Choudhary, KK Bishnoi, and Jawahar Singh Bedam took oath as ministers of state.
Undoubtedly, the induction of new ministers is aimed at ensuring a balanced representation in the cabinet and fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Rajasthan. The state sees a strong BJP majority, with the party securing victories on 115 seats in the recent elections. The Congress, on the other hand, came in a distant second with 69 seats. Rajasthan witnessed polling for 199 of the 200 assembly seats on November 25, and the majority mark in the state is 100.
The recently expanded Rajasthan cabinet holds the promise of a diverse range of voices and expertise coming together to address the needs and interests of the people of the state.
