Raising Cane’s, a popular fast food restaurant chain known for its chicken fingers, is extending a helping hand to the victims of the devastating wildfires in Maui, Hawaii. Originating in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the restaurant has announced that it will donate 15% of its profits from Thursday, August 17 to the Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Center (KHAKO), a shelter based in Lahaina.
The ongoing wildfires in Maui have left thousands of locals struggling with housing issues and displacement. In response to this crisis, Raising Cane’s has stepped up to contribute to the rebuilding efforts and support those who have been affected. The funds raised will be directed towards helping the displaced individuals and aiding the reconstruction of the Westside Center, a 78-unit housing center in Lahaina that was completely lost during the wildfires.
Customers of Raising Cane’s are encouraged to visit any of the restaurant’s locations across the country on Thursday, during regular operational hours, to contribute to this noble cause. The donation will be automatically applied to all orders, and there is no need for customers to mention the fundraiser.
Expressing his personal connection to Maui, Raising Cane’s founder Todd Graves explained, Maui holds such a special place in my heart – not only is it where my wife and I got married, but it’s also home to one of our restaurants and so many residents and customers that have always been so kind to us. I’m glad all of our restaurants are able to come together to generate a donation for such a great cause that is in critical need of support at this time.
Recognizing the admirable work of the Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Center, Graves added, KHAKO is an amazing organization that has done so much to serve the people of Maui, and they continue going above and beyond each day to further help those displaced by the wildfires.
