Himachal Pradesh has seen light to moderate rainfall in recent days, with the local weather office warning of thunderstorms, lightning, hail and gusty winds in specific areas until June 2. The district of Mandi received the most rain, with 25mm, while Kufri received 11mm and Shimla 9.5mm. The local Meteorological (MeT) office posted an ‘orange’ alert for thunderstorms and advised farmers to take measures to protect their crops. A new western disturbance hitting northwest Indian regions from May 29 was expected to bring more wet weather until June 4.
