The Gary RailCats will be hosting Breast Cancer Awareness Night on August 12th, where they will be playing against the Kane County Cougars. This annual event will take place at 4 p.m. at the U.S. Steel Yard in Gary, Indiana.
Tickets for the game can be purchased at the Pink Ribbon Society offices located at 303 E. 89th Avenue in Merrillville. The cost of each ticket is $10, and $5 from each ticket sold through the Pink Ribbon Society offices will be donated back to the organization. It’s a fantastic opportunity to support a worthy cause while enjoying a great game of baseball.
Former White Sox player Ron Kittle will also be present at the game to throw out the first pitch. Kittle has created an autographed bat bench specifically for the Pink Ribbon organization, which will be auctioned off during the game. Tickets for the auction are available for $10 each or 3 for $25. This is a unique and valuable item for baseball enthusiasts and collectors, and it’s all for a good cause.
Throughout the evening, there will be numerous special events to keep attendees entertained. The game will honor both men and women whose lives have been touched by breast cancer, allowing them to feel recognized and supported. Additionally, there will be an auction of a breast cancer jersey presented by the Pink Ribbon Society, providing another opportunity for supporters to contribute.
Other activities include Signature Saturday, sponsored by Miss Print, where fans can get pre-game autographs from players. Saturday’s Steal Deal offers a package deal for $15, including a game ticket, a Chick-fil-A coupon, and a RailCats cap. Lastly, after the game, kids will have the chance to run the bases in a session presented by Kennedy Avenue Chiropractic.
In addition to all the exciting events taking place, it’s also Thornton Public Library Day, with recognition presented by Anthem. This emphasizes the RailCats’ commitment to supporting the community and various organizations.
