The decision will be made after the 2024 polls, and whoever Congress and Rahul Gandhi choose can become PM after defeating BJP. Various senior Congress leaders, including Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Pawan Khera, have expressed their support for Gandhi’s candidacy as the Prime Minister for the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. Nitish Kumar, the Bihar CM, is leading the charge to bring all opposition parties together against the BJP government at the Centre, with an eye on next year’s Lok Sabha polls.
