Queen of the South FC captain, Josh Todd, is optimistic about the upcoming League One season and hopes his team can mount a real challenge. Todd, along with goalkeeper Charlie Cowie and striker Kyle Doherty, signed a contract for the new season with Cowie and Doherty joining the team from Clyde. Todd cites Queen of the South’s strong finish to last season and the leadership of head coach Marvin Bartley as reasons for his confidence. Despite just missing out on the playoffs last season, Todd admits that the team’s inconsistency worked against them and needs to be addressed. Nevertheless, Queen of the South FC have secured a promising new signing in Doherty, who is looking forward to the new challenge. Cowie, who spent last season on loan with club Gartcairn, is pleased to be continuing his football career with his boyhood team. Additionally, Hibernian FC’s center-back Kyle McClelland has joined Queen of the South FC for the upcoming season on loan, while Craig McGuffie and Lee Connelly have also committed to the club with a one-year deal.
