A yellow card and a 27-point hammering have marred the beginning of Quade Cooper’s quest to earn a Wallabies recall. The World Cup outcast made his debut for Hanazono Kintetsu Liners in Japan Rugby League One, but his side suffered a resounding 41-14 loss against Ricoh Black Rams Tokyo. Cooper, who was overlooked for last year’s global showpiece, was sent to the sin bin in the 11th minute, and his absence allowed the Black Rams to take a commanding lead. Despite his return, the Liners were unable to mount a comeback.
