Doha: The Workers’ Support and Insurance Fund and the International Labour Organisation (ILO), in collaboration with the Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum 1-2-3, organised an entertainment and cultural event to celebrate International Workers’ Day. The event, attended by 500 workers from various companies in Qatar, aimed to honor and appreciate the contributions of workers. Various activities were held at the Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum 1-2-3, emphasizing the importance of the day and showcasing the museum’s facilities to the attendees.
Salem Al Muhannadi of the Workers’ Support and Insurance Fund highlighted the significance of the event in recognizing and supporting workers, noting the positive impact of partnerships in organizing such initiatives. Abdullah Al Mulla, Director of the Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum 1-2-3, praised the collaborative efforts between the museum, the Ministry of Labour, and the ILO in creating a welcoming event for workers, promoting awareness of their rights and working conditions.
Max Tunon from the ILO Project office commended Qatar’s commitment to improving the work environment and enhancing the national workforce, emphasizing the organization’s collaboration with the state. The event coincided with global celebrations of workers’ contributions to society, showcasing Qatar’s dedication to developing a skilled workforce for the future. The organizers reiterated their support for workers and their ongoing efforts to overcome challenges in the labor market, underscoring the importance of such events in fostering a culture of appreciation and respect for workers.
