Qatar Airways Expands New York-Doha Flights to Enhance Connectivity
Qatar Airways has recently announced its plans to increase the frequency of flights between Doha Hamad International Airport and New York John F. Kennedy International Airport, in an effort to boost connectivity and facilitate seamless travel options for passengers. The airline will now operate three daily flights on this popular route, providing travelers with increased flexibility and convenience.
Starting from October 30, the new flight schedule will include an early morning arrival and a late evening departure from New York, allowing passengers to easily connect with partner airlines such as American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and JetBlue. This enhanced connectivity opens up a wide range of travel options for passengers, as they can now seamlessly connect to over 80 destinations across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe using Qatar Airways’ hub in Doha.
The added flight will benefit passengers traveling from the United States, as it will allow for seamless connections between JetBlue and Qatar Airways at JFK. Furthermore, with three daily flights – one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening – passengers can now enjoy convenient connections to several cities in the United States that are not directly served by Qatar Airways, including Detroit, Raleigh-Durham, Orlando, and Tampa. Additionally, New York passengers can now effortlessly connect through Doha to popular destinations such as Bangkok, Kathmandu, and Johannesburg.
The existing daily flights between Doha and New York will continue alongside the new flight. QR701 departs Doha at 8:15 a.m., arriving in New York JFK at 3:15 p.m., while the return flight QR702 departs JFK at 8:20 p.m., arriving back in Doha the following day at 4:45 p.m. This flight is operated by a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft featuring 360 seats in two cabins: 42 lie-flat business class seats known as the QSuite, and 312 seats in economy.
The second daily flight, QR705, departs Doha at 3:30 p.m. and arrives in New York JFK at 10:20 p.m., with the return flight QR704 departing JFK at 10:15 a.m. and arriving back in Doha at 6:40 a.m. the next day. This flight is operated by an Airbus A350-1000, offering 327 seats in two cabins: 46 lie-flat business class seats called the QSuite, and 281 seats in economy.
The newly introduced flight, QR703, will depart Doha at 1:25 a.m. and arrive in New York JFK at 8:15 a.m., while the return flight QR706 will depart JFK at 1:20 a.m. and arrive back in Doha at 9:45 p.m. the same day. This additional flight aims to further enhance connectivity options and provide passengers with more travel choices.

This expansion of flights comes as a result of American Airlines’ decision to shift its service between Doha and New York-JFK to Philadelphia from October 29. American Airlines cited ongoing evaluation of its route network as the reason for this change. However, Qatar Airways continues to serve key cities across the United States, including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Miami, San Francisco, New York, Washington DC, and Seattle.
