PVR, one of India’s leading multiplex chains, has responded to a viral tweet criticizing its high food prices by announcing new affordable food and beverage offers. The multiplex made the announcement on Twitter, stating that they believe every opinion matters and must be respected. The move comes after a Twitter user shared a photo of a bill showing how a tub of popcorn and a soft drink cost him Rs 820, equating to the annual subscription of Amazon Prime Video.

In response to the feedback, PVR has introduced a variety of pocket-friendly options for cinegoers. On weekdays between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm, movie buffs can now enjoy snacks such as burgers, sandwiches, and samosas for just Rs 99. Additionally, PVR has also introduced a weekend offer of bottomless popcorn and Pepsi, although the pricing for this offer has not been revealed yet.

The decision to reduce prices has been well-received by Twitter users, with many praising PVR for taking this step in the right direction. Movie critic Taran Adarsh also commended the move. It is worth noting that earlier on the same day, the Goods and Services Tax Council decided to reduce the tax on food served in cinema halls from 18% to 5%.

This move by PVR not only addresses the concerns of customers regarding high food prices but also aligns with the recent reduction in the tax on cinema hall food. By offering more affordable options, PVR aims to make movie-watching a more accessible and enjoyable experience for families.

With this development, PVR has demonstrated its commitment to listening to customer feedback and taking appropriate action. By introducing budget-friendly food and beverage offers, PVR is making cinema outings more affordable and ensuring that every opinion is valued and respected.

It remains to be seen how these new offers will be received by moviegoers, but PVR’s response to customer feedback is a positive step in the right direction. As the multiplex chain continues to prioritize customer satisfaction, it is likely to enhance the overall movie-watching experience for everyone. Whether this move will attract more moviegoers or not is something only time will tell, but for now, PVR deserves credit for acknowledging the concerns raised and taking prompt action to address them.
