The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has announced that they will begin issuing duplicate copies of the detailed marks certificate (DMC) in ‘tatkaal’ mode. This process will ensure that students receive their duplicate certificate within an hour of applying. Although this service has just started, 85 students have already applied for the duplicate copies of their DMCs.
The board will be charging Rs 2,000 for this service, which can now be acquired within a few minutes if requested offline at PSEB’s main office in Mohali. Candidates can either apply online or manually by visiting the PSEB main office or the PSEB depot situated at Punjabi Bhawan, Ludhiana.
Previously, duplicate detailed marks certificates were issued within a week by the authorities, but now, students can receive their certificate on the same day if they apply through the PSEB depot before 3 pm. The certificate will be dispatched on the same day itself.
Regarding the new process, PSEB Secretary, Avikesh Gupta said, We have eliminated the 11-step process of issuing duplicate copies of the DMCs. More officials have been deployed to give certificates to candidates within an hour or send them through trackable registered post.
This new process has made it easier for students to apply for duplicate certificates, be it online or manually. Students in need of a DMC can now acquire it within an hour, which should significantly reduce any inconvenience caused in the process.
It is great to see PSEB making efforts to simplify and expedite the process of issuing duplicate certificates for students. This is a much-needed service that will undoubtedly benefit students who have been waiting for their DMCs.
