The RoundGlass Foundation, in partnership with SAS Nagar Police in Mohali, has planted the city’s first mini-forest on World Environment Day. Over 100 people gathered to support the #KhakiGoesGreen campaign, including 75 police officers from the Police Lines Mohali, along with celebrities and influencers such as actor Kartar Cheema, singer-actor Gurjaaz and fitness influencer Vaishnavi. The event saw the planting of over 500 saplings of native trees, as part of a larger initiative to plant 50,000 trees across Punjab on World Environment Day. The mini-forest will provide a natural green space for the police force to rest and revitalize, as studies have found that mental health issues such as stress, anxiety and burnout are rampant in the police force. The RoundGlass Foundation is working towards building a better Punjab by enabling the wellbeing of individuals and communities, including the police force. Through its Plant for Punjab programme, the foundation is committed to planting one billion trees in the state.
