Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit accused Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of dereliction of Constitutional duty for not responding to his letters. The governor claims he has sent various letters to the chief minister which have gone unanswered, and has referred to a Supreme Court order from earlier this year which stated that the governor has the right to seek information from the chief minister. The governor has accused the chief minister of being indifferent to the orders of the Supreme Court, and of failing to discharge his constitutional duty. In response to the governor’s accusations, the chief minister accused the governor of failing to discharge his constitutional duty by not using the word my government during his address. The governor responded by saying he had instantly accepted the suggestion during his speech itself.
