Punjab Chief Minister Warns Against Altering Panjab University’s Character

Punjab Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, has reiterated that any changes to the character and nature of Panjab University will not be tolerated. The university is deemed a heritage site and holds significant cultural and historical value to the Punjab region. Mann stated that the university is closely connected to the people, who hail primarily from Punjab, and has an emotional place in their hearts. He highlighted that Panjab University is synonymous with the name of the state and serves only Punjab and its capital Chandigarh. Mann reminded the authorities that the legal and administrative status of the university must remain the same, as it has ever since its establishment. Panjab University has been operating in Punjab without any interruption or disruptions and boasts 175 affiliated colleges throughout the region. The Chief Minister hopes that the rights of the state and its people will continue to be safeguarded.
