Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan has nominated 15 committees for the House for the year 2023-24. Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, a Congress MLA, has been appointed chairman of the Committee on Public Accounts. The Committee on Public Undertaking will be chaired by AAP MLA Budh Ram, while the Committee on Estimates will be chaired by Manjit Singh Bilaspur. Other committees include the Committee on Welfare of SC, ST and OBCs, and the House Committee. The panels appointed by the Assembly speaker include the Committee on Local Bodies, Committee on Panchayati Raj Institutions, and Committee on Agriculture and Allied Activities. The nominations aim to enhance the functioning of the Punjab Assembly in the next few years.
