Patna University (PU) will release the first merit list for admission into undergraduate courses in arts, science, and commerce streams for the session 2023-24 today. The counselling-cum-admission of students will be conducted between June 9 and 13.
According to PU students’ welfare dean, Anil Kumar, more than 10,000 applications were received for admission against 4,200 seats in different honours courses under both regular conventional courses and vocational courses in different constituent colleges of PU. The screening of applications has almost been completed, and the course-wise merit list is being finalized. The merit list will be displayed on the PU website on June 10th.
As the university didn’t conduct entrance tests for admission this year, the merit list is being prepared based on the marks obtained in the last qualifying (plus two) examination conducted by BSEB, CBSE, or ICSE. Candidates selected in the merit list will have to make online payment of counselling-cum-admission fees and collect payment receipts. They will also be required to go to the allotted college, along with the necessary documents and certificates for admission.
The total number of sanctioned seats in undergraduate courses for which students would be admitted are 930 in Patna College, 750 in Patna Science College, 1,130 in B N College, 1,156 in Magadh Mahila College, and 525 in Vanijya Mahavidyalaya.
Selected candidates will be admitted to three-year degree vocational courses running in different colleges of PU, including Functional English, BCA, BBA, Biotechnology, Mass Communications, Environmental Science, and Social Work.
It is important to ensure that all selected candidates report at the given date and time. If they fail to report, they will forfeit their admission claims, and the seat will be allotted to the candidate next in merit.
