PTI Chairman Interrogated in Connection with May 9 Riots, Pakistan

Imran Khan, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been interrogated by a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in connection with the May 9 riots and the attack on the residence of the Corps Commander in Lahore. The JIT, consisting of five members led by DIG Investigation Imran Kishwar, arrived at Attock Jail to question Khan after receiving approval from an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) to initiate an inquiry into his potential involvement in the violent incidents.

This is not the first time Khan has been summoned by the JIT, as he previously appeared before the investigative unit in Lahore. However, this latest questioning session delved deeper into the allegations surrounding his alleged engagement in the May 9 incidents.

In a significant development, the Lahore law enforcement authorities have decided not to transfer Khan from Attock Jail to Lahore. Instead, they will duly document the official apprehension process within the jail’s law enforcement records.

While the investigation unfolds, reports have emerged of threats being directed at the JIT members involved in the case. The nature and origin of these threats have not been disclosed at this time.
