PT United Tractors Trains Emergency Response Team for Water Rescue

PT United Tractors Tbk (UNTR), also known as UT Group, has organized a joint training program for water rescue in Sunter Lake, North Jakarta, to enhance the skills of their Emergency Response Team (ERT) during emergency situations. The aim of this training is to improve operational effectiveness and strengthen cooperation with relevant parties during water-related accidents.

Emergency preparedness is crucial in dealing with unforeseen circumstances, and UT Group’s ERT must be competent in providing assistance. This joint training serves as a proactive measure to anticipate emergency situations and is aligned with the implementation of Astra Security Management System (ASMS) TOP 6 Security Networking and TOP 7 Security Protection.

Furthermore, this rescue joint training reflects UT Group’s commitment to make positive contributions to the community, particularly in aiding victims of water-related emergencies such as floods and river accidents. It also aligns with the company’s focus on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) aspects within its operational framework.

Sara K. Loebis, Head of Corporate Governance and Sustainability at UT Group, explained that this training session is designed to share knowledge and skills among ERT members. Through this initiative, UT Group aims to consistently provide swift and effective assistance to the community in times of emergency.

The training session consisted of two categories. The first category involved online sessions that covered communication during emergencies, basic water rescue skills, the use of tools, understanding the dangers of the waters, and the appropriate attitude for rescue teams. The second category, conducted offline, focused on practical exercises with water rescue equipment such as rubber boats and pump-jets, as well as techniques for transporting victims on boats.

The offline activities took place on June 26 and July 9, 2023, with a sharing session between Astra’s and UT Group’s rescue teams to discuss boat operations, the utilization of oars and pump-jets, and victim rescue techniques like reach, throw, row, go, and carry (RTRGT). The participants were divided into groups and received instructions from their respective coaches through warming-up exercises and practice sessions.

Around 50 representatives from PT Pamapersada Nusantara (PAMA), PT Traktor Nusantara, PT United Tractors Pandu Engineering (UTPE), PT Acset Indonusa Tbk (ACST), PT Bina Pertiwi, and PT Mitra Bakti United Tractors participated in the training session. UT Group aims to provide sustainable safety measures for the well-being of the general public.

In conclusion, PT United Tractors Tbk (UNTR), in collaboration with its Emergency Response Team (ERT), has conducted a joint training program to enhance water rescue skills. This initiative reflects UT Group’s commitment to community welfare and aligns with their goals in ESG aspects. By imparting knowledge and skills to the ERT members, UT Group is bolstering its ability to provide swift and proper assistance during emergencies.
