Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, has reported that Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) talks with Julian Nagelsmann have collapsed, raising doubts that he will become their new manager. The French champions are now considering hiring former midfielder Thiago Motta instead.
PSG’s negotiations with Nagelsmann failed to reach an agreement on critical details of a potential deal, meaning that the club’s search for a new manager continues. Nagelsmann was also a contender for Tottenham’s managerial role before they appointed Ange Postecoglou.
PSG’s last season was considered to be a disappointment under the leadership of previous manager, Christophe Galtier, despite winning the Ligue 1 championship. They were eliminated from the Champions League by Nagelsmann’s Bayern Munich in the round of 16.
According to reports, PSG could appoint their ex-midfielder, Thiago Motta as their new manager, who is currently coaching Bologna in Serie A. Motta played for PSG from 2012 to 2018 and is known for his technical skills.
The football world will be watching to see if Motta will be officially named as PSG’s new manager in the coming days, or if the club’s quest to find their ideal candidate continues.
