Thousands in U.S. Protest Against Military Aid to Israel and Demand an End to Genocide

WASHINGTON, Sunday, December 24, 2023 – Thousands of activists, along with members of human rights organizations, unions, and associations, have taken to the streets in several U.S. cities calling for an end to U.S. military aid for Israel and demanding a halt to the ongoing Israeli heinous crimes and massacres against the Palestinian people.

Protesters gathered in Atlanta, Georgia, in major shopping areas filled with holiday shoppers, urging the termination of all U.S. aid to Israel’s apartheid regime. Similar demonstrations were also organized in front of the Irvine Spectrum shopping center in Los Angeles, California, while protesters closed down the largest Christmas market in Chicago, Illinois.

In Manhattan, New York, demonstrators continued their daily marches, demanding an end to the genocide and vowing not to stop protesting until the Israeli genocide stops and all military aid to Israel is terminated.

Protests also erupted in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Boston, Massachusetts, calling for an immediate ceasefire. The participants expressed their opposition to the ongoing Israeli aggression and called for an end to all military assistance to Israel.

One protester in Atlanta expressed their frustration, stating, It is unacceptable that the United States continues to support Israel’s oppressive regime while innocent Palestinians are being subjected to genocide. We demand an end to this injustice.

Another protester in Los Angeles added, The ongoing Israeli crimes against Palestinians must be met with international condemnation. The U.S. government cannot ignore the suffering of an entire population any longer. It’s time to prioritize human rights over political alliances.

The demonstrations in Manhattan were marked by powerful speeches from activists and scholars, emphasizing the urgency of ending the genocide and the need for the U.S. government to cease its military aid to Israel. We will continue marching and raising our voices until justice is served. The world cannot turn a blind eye to the atrocities being committed, declared a demonstrator.

In Raleigh and Boston, demonstrators stressed the importance of an immediate ceasefire to prevent further loss of innocent lives. They called upon the international community to take a stand against Israeli aggression and suspend all military assistance to Israel.

The protests come amid escalating tensions in the occupied Palestinian territories, where reports of civilian casualties and human rights violations have surged in recent months. According to the activists, the U.S. government’s unquestioning support for Israel’s military actions perpetuates the cycle of violence and impedes prospects for peace in the region.

The protesters united under the banner of justice and voiced their demand for a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on respect for human rights and international law. Their actions drew the attention of bystanders and passersby, prompting discussions on the role of foreign aid and the responsibility of nations in preventing atrocities.

As demonstrators continue to raise their voices across the United States, they hope to exert pressure on policymakers to reassess their stance on military aid to Israel and take a proactive role in ending the ongoing violations against the Palestinian people. The momentum of these protests highlights the growing concern over the devastating consequences of the Israeli actions and maintains the urgency for immediate action toward a just and lasting resolution.
