A private school teacher in Srinagar has been arrested for allegedly molesting and sexually assaulting two girl students. The accused, Satar Beigh, teaches Arabic at the Holy Faith school at Rawalpora. He was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly assaulting the two students, who were in classes 4 and 5. Beigh is from the Gurez area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, but he has been residing in Hyderpora. A case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. This is an alarming case and serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting children through measures such as strict background checks on teachers.
