Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated five new AIIMS hospitals in Rajkot (Gujarat), Bathinda (Punjab), Raebareli (Uttar Pradesh), Kalyani (West Bengal), and Mangalagiri (Andhra Pradesh) as part of a groundbreaking initiative to bolster India’s healthcare infrastructure. In addition to these hospitals, he also launched 200 healthcare infrastructure projects worth over ₹11,700 crore across 23 states and UTs. The projects span a wide range of initiatives, including medical colleges, critical care blocks, nursing colleges, integrated public health laboratories, and more, aimed at revolutionizing the country’s healthcare landscape. PM Modi emphasized the rapid progress in healthcare infrastructure over the past decade, marking a substantial increase in medical colleges, PG and MBBS seats, and the establishment of numerous AIIMS facilities nationwide. The Prime Minister’s commitment to enhancing healthcare services and accessibility was evident as he unveiled these transformative projects, ushering in a new era of advanced medical care for all citizens.
