Prime Minister Modi Highlights India’s Growing Mobility Sector and Vision for 2047 at Bharat Mobility Global Expo

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a program at India’s largest and first-of-its-kind mobility exhibition, Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi today. The expo showcases India’s capabilities in the mobility and automotive sectors, featuring exhibitions, conferences, buyer-seller meets, and public-centric attractions like go-karting. PM Modi praised the automotive industry for organizing such a grand event, expressing his delight and confidence in the growing economy and income of the country. He emphasized the pivotal role of the mobility sector in achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047. The Prime Minister highlighted the rapid expansion of the Indian economy, with India set to become the third-largest economy in the world during his third term. He also noted the significant increase in car and electric vehicle sales in recent years. PM Modi discussed the government’s infrastructure development initiatives, including the expansion of rail, road, airport, and waterway transport, as well as the progress made in completing engineering marvels like the Atal Tunnel and Atal Setu. He mentioned the transformative impact of initiatives such as the Goods and Services Tax (GST), Fast-Tag technology, and the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme on the mobility sector. The Prime Minister concluded by affirming India’s potential to become a global economic powerhouse, particularly in the auto and automotive component industry. He highlighted India’s position as the world’s third-largest market for passenger vehicles and a major manufacturer of commercial vehicles. PM Modi reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting various sectors through the PLI Scheme.
