Nigeria Witnessing Highest Number of Youth, Women in Tinubu’s Government, Says Northern Group
The Northern Youth Association of Nigeria (NYAN) has applauded President Bola Tinubu for his commitment to inclusivity and the empowerment of Nigeria’s youth and women. According to the group, the country is currently experiencing the highest level of youth and women representation in the government under Tinubu’s administration.
NYAN praised President Tinubu for his strong stance against corruption and his efforts to curtail it through initiatives such as the removal of fuel subsidies. The association believes that this move has the potential to significantly reduce corruption in the petroleum sector.
Speaking to the press on Thursday, the President of NYAN, Godiya Adams Bogoro, expressed the association’s satisfaction with the leadership and achievements of President Tinubu. Bogoro described the President’s actions as good leadership that has led to notable successes.
The association particularly commended the President for implementing a palliative program aimed at alleviating the hardships resulting from the removal of the petroleum subsidy. They highlighted the 50 percent transport subsidy provided during the Christmas and New Year celebrations as a generous gesture that will be remembered by Nigerians.
NYAN also appreciated President Tinubu’s efforts in safeguarding the nation, mentioning the student loan scheme and the anticipated salary increment for workers as welcome developments. The association believes that these actions demonstrate the President’s sincere commitment to fulfilling promises and achieving inclusive governance.
While expressing their gratitude, NYAN also made a request to the President. They urged him to consider appointing Mrs. Udu Sikira Adunni, a renowned national philanthropist, to a position in one of the government’s Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). The association emphasized Adunni’s track record of positively impacting lives through her resources and energy. They highlighted her dedication to national development and her strong stance against corruption, ultimately making her their choice for inclusion in the Tinubu government.
NYAN based their endorsement of Adunni on a thorough review of her contributions to the All Progressives Congress and her immediate environment.
President Tinubu has yet to respond to NYAN’s request, but the association remains hopeful that their plea will be considered.
