President Bola Tinubu: ‘Subsidy: Few people cornered Nigeria’s commonwealth for 40 years’

President Bola Tinubu has called out a select few individuals for cornering Nigeria’s commonwealth for the past 40 years under the guise of the subsidy regime. Speaking at the inauguration of Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Tinubu described the subsidy as wasteful and emphasized the need to put an end to it in order to revive the country’s economy.

Tinubu assured the citizens that their concerns regarding essential reforms are being addressed. He expressed his commitment to focusing on education, healthcare, industrialization, and investments as part of his vision to create economic stability and prosperity for Nigeria.

In the past 40 years, a few people were cornering our commonwealth, and calling it subsidy, but I call it wasteful. Right now, we are all bearing and sharing that pain. But things are looking up. Things will get better for the good of all Nigerians. With me, there is hope, Tinubu affirmed.

Furthermore, he commended Governor Uzodinma for his exemplary leadership in Imo State, referring to him as the real hope for the state. Tinubu praised the peace and security witnessed in Imo, acknowledging the importance of unity and cooperation in maintaining internal security.

The president called on Governor Uzodinma to redouble his efforts in serving the people, underscoring that hard work is the reward for reelection. He assured the governor of the federal government’s support in facilitating the rapid development of Imo State.

Tinubu’s remarks shed light on the need for transparency and accountability in the management of Nigeria’s resources. The subsidy regime has long been a subject of controversy, with allegations of misuse and exploitation. As the nation strives for economic progress, Tinubu’s stance on ending this wasteful practice could signal a step towards a more equitable and prosperous future.

It remains to be seen how Tinubu’s administration will tackle the subsidy issue and make progress in education, healthcare, and industrial development. As Nigerians eagerly anticipate these initiatives, the hope for positive change continues to grow.

In conclusion, President Bola Tinubu’s call to end the subsidy regime and address the concerns of the citizens marks a significant step towards reviving Nigeria’s economy. With a focus on education, healthcare, and industrialization, Tinubu aims to create a more prosperous and stable country. As he reiterates his commitment to the people, Nigerians look forward to substantial development and a brighter future under his leadership.
