President Murmu Holds Talks with Surinamese Counterpart

President Droupadi Murmu of India had delegation level talks with the President of Suriname, Chandrikapersad Santokhi on Monday to discuss ways to deepen India-Suriname relations. The two leaders held wide-ranging discussions on defence, agriculture, IT, and capacity building. Official sources revealed that the two countries exchanged four Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) in various fields, including health and agriculture. President Murmu arrived in Paramaribo on Sunday on her first state visit as President and will be there until June 6. In a special gesture, President Santokhi welcomed President Murmu at the airport with full state honours. The discussion aims to further strengthen and enhance cooperation between India and Suriname in various sectors.
