Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav expressed his concerns that he could face chargesheet ahead of the opposition meeting scheduled next week. Yadav is worried about the opposition supporters being targeted by central agencies considering the recent arrest of a Tamil Nadu minister by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The JD(U) of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar convenes the meeting, and Yadav fears the central agencies could target him. He stated that he would not be surprised if the agencies issue a chargesheet against him soon.
Yadav commented on the matter and said, So far, there has not been a chargesheet against me. But, now I will not be surprised if the agencies are made to come out with one soon. The 34-year-old politician has been named in the land-for-hotels and land-for-jobs scams, both of which occurred during his father, Lalu Prasad’s tenure as the railway minister. Yadav has often accused the ruling BJP of misusing investigating agencies. He has also jokingly asked CBI and ED to open their offices at his residence.
Yadav expressed his strong belief that more raids and arrests by these agencies would occur in the lead up to the opposition meeting. He maintained that although the situation might be challenging, it would make them emerge stronger. Yadav expressed his concern about the central agencies misusing their power against him and his close aides. He added, I am sure these agencies must have lost count of the number of times they have been made to conduct searches against me and my close aides.
In conclusion, it is evident that Yadav is anticipating a challenging time ahead as he prepares for the opposition meeting. Yadav is concerned about the possibility of being charged ahead of the meeting, and he is wary of the central agencies’ power. However, he remains optimistic that he will emerge stronger from this situation.
