The NBC News poll indicates that he holds a commanding 59% support among Republican primary voters. A majority (58%) of GOP primary voters believe that Trump should remain the leader of the party, compared to 49% in a previous NBC News poll conducted in June.
Despite Trump’s strong position within the party, the rest of the Republican field lags far behind him. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis emerges as the second most favored candidate among voters, but with only 16% support.
The poll also shines a light on Biden’s challenges with voters, particularly concerns about his age and mental fitness for a second term. A significant 74% of voters express major or moderate concerns about Biden’s mental and physical health, while only 26% have minor or no concerns at all.
Furthermore, the poll reveals that Biden’s disapproval rating has reached the highest point of his presidency, standing at 56%, compared to his approval rating of 41%.
