The political battle between the DMK and BJP in Tamil Nadu carries on as the two parties exchange challenges and barbs. After DMK Chief Minister M.K. Stalin questioned what the Central Government has done for Tamil Nadu over nine years of its rule, the state’s BJP president K. Annamalai responded by promising to reveal what the DMK Government has done for the state during its two years in office. This exchange comes amid the visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Chennai.
During a public meeting in Salem, Stalin urged party cadres to win all 39* Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu and the one seat in Puducherry. He also accused the BJP of being in a defensive stance after its recent defeat in the Karnataka assembly election.
Shah will be meeting with a group of industrialists then will address a public meeting, highlighting the BJP’s achievements over the past nine years since taking office. The political slugfest between the two parties continues to escalate, with each side claiming to have the best interests of the Tamil Nadu people at heart.
