Dehradun police have successfully apprehended all four accused individuals involved in the high-profile jewellery showroom heist that occurred in Dehradun earlier this month. The arrested suspects, identified as Abhishek, Ashish Kumar, Kundan Kumar, and Mohd. Adil, who hail from Bihar, were captured in their home state. The police have revealed that the detainees were responsible for arranging funds for the gang before the robbery, utilizing hawala and phone transactions. Following their arrest, the four accused were brought before a court in Bihar for transit remand, which was duly approved. They are currently being transported back to Dehradun.
In the incident that unfolded at the Reliance Jewellery showroom near the Police Headquarters and Secretariat on VIP Rajpur Road, unidentified robbers stole gold and silver jewellery worth a staggering Rs 20 crore while the police administration was preoccupied with security arrangements for an upcoming VVIP visit. The heist involved four culprits who forced their way into the showroom, with one keeping watch outside. The criminals then held eleven employees, including a security guard, hostage at gunpoint before making off with the valuable jewelry. Upon realizing that the police had been alerted, the robbers fled the scene, leaving behind their motorcycles as evidence.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami of Uttarakhand was quick to respond to the incident, summoning the Director General of Police (DGP) and demanding a thorough investigation into the matter. The successful arrest of all four accused brings hope for a resolution in this high-profile case, providing a sense of justice to the victims and the local community.
