Police Arrest Two Individuals: Cyberstalking and Possession of Methamphetamine; Jewelry Worth $15,000 Stolen

In a recent development, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office has made two arrests in connection with separate felony charges. Stephanie Denise Belk, a 35-year-old, was arrested for cyberstalking, while Robert Leonard Reus, a 43-year-old from Collins, was arrested for the possession of methamphetamine.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a resident on Drive 140 in Mantachie. The woman claimed that she had left a bag containing miscellaneous jewelry worth approximately $15,000 on her bed before leaving her house. However, upon returning after two hours, she discovered that the maroon and white bag had gone missing. No signs of forced entry were found, and she confirmed that she was the only one with a key to her house.

Additionally, another complaint was lodged by a resident on County Road 1409 in Mooreville. The woman reported the appearance of a small gray puppy at her residence on Sunday. Seeking assistance, she dialed 911, hoping someone would come to collect the animal. However, she was informed that there is no stray animal ordinance in the county. Instead, she was provided with a list of rescue groups that might be able to assist her.

Authorities are urging anyone with any information related to these crimes to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at 841-9041, the Tupelo Police Department at 841-6491, or Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi at (800) 773-TIPS. Alternatively, individuals can download the P3 Tip App and provide an anonymous tip through that platform.

As news of these arrests and the stolen jewelry spreads, it serves as a reminder for residents to remain vigilant and take appropriate precautions to protect their belongings. Locking doors and windows, ensuring the security of valuable items, and reporting any suspicious activities to law enforcement are crucial steps in maintaining a safe community.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate these incidents, seeking out further information that may help in resolving these cases. Though the circumstances surrounding the stolen jewelry remain unclear, authorities are determined to recover the stolen items and hold those responsible accountable for their actions.

Residents are encouraged to support their community by staying informed and cooperating with law enforcement if they have any relevant information. Together, we can work towards maintaining a safe and secure environment for all residents of Lee County and Tupelo.
