Seizing on the ongoing conflict between Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin and Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi, the latter expressed admiration for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision during a recent gathering. While addressing the audience, Governor Ravi praised PM Modi’s deep understanding of the country and its people, referring to his leadership as a divine mandate. He also highlighted PM Modi’s vision to spread the essence of Sanatana Dharma, or eternal righteousness, to the entire world within the next 25 years.

This statement comes amidst the escalating tensions between Chief Minister Stalin and Governor Ravi over the dismissal of Minister V Senthil Balaji. In a letter to the Governor, Chief Minister Stalin vehemently objected to Balaji’s removal and asserted that the Governor did not possess the authority to dismiss his ministers. Stalin claimed that such a power solely rests with an elected Chief Minister. He further dismissed the Governor’s earlier statement regarding the breakdown of Constitutional machinery, deeming it an indirect reference. Stalin emphasized that only individuals with convictions face disqualification.

Minister Senthil Balaji had been arrested on June 14 in connection with a cash-for-jobs scam case. On Thursday, Governor Ravi dismissed Balaji from his post due to the criminal charges against him. However, the decision was put on hold, with the Governor stating that he needed to consult with the Attorney General to proceed.

The dismissal of the jailed minister sparked criticism from former Union minister and Congress leader Manish Tewari, who argued that as per Article 164 of the Constitution of India, ministers can only be removed on the advice of the Chief Minister. Tewari deemed the Governor’s actions unconstitutional, as ministers are appointed based on the Chief Minister’s advice.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Raghav Chadha also condemned the removal of Minister Balaji, labeling it as outrightly unconstitutional.

It is important to note that this article aims to provide an objective overview of the ongoing conflict between Chief Minister Stalin and Governor Ravi. While Governor Ravi praised PM Modi’s vision and expressed his admiration, there are differing opinions regarding the dismissal of Minister Senthil Balaji. The Chief Minister and other political figures have criticized the Governor’s actions, citing constitutional concerns. As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how these tensions will be resolved.
