On Saturday, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari expressed his grievances towards the Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurating the new Parliament building instead of the President of India, citing it as an insult to the dreams of Dr. BR Ambedkar and the Constitution. He also spoke at a press conference in Chhattisgarh during the ‘Nau Saal Nau Sawal’ campaign to bring attention to the failures of the NDA government of nine years. He then questions the Union government for the protocol being broken regarding the inauguration of the new Parliament building, and also questions the Prime Minister’s silence on issues such as inflation, unemployment, and corruption.

The inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament building will begin early morning with a hawan and a multi-religion prayer, followed by a formal opening in the Lok Sabha by the PM. Invitees include almost 25 parties, however, 20 opposition parties, including the Congress, expressed their absence from the event. This angered Pramod Tiwari further who continued to criticize the Centre for enriching “friendly businessmen” and asked why the Prime Minister was still silent on these issues. These included the LIC investing people’s hard-earned money in Gautam Adani’s firms, accused of stock manipulation and accounting fraud by US-based Hindenburg Research. He additionally commented on the Reserve Bank of India’s decision to withdraw Rs. 2000 notes from circulation claiming that the “chip” embedded in the bill had to be removed as it was expensive.

He is a vocal critic of the NDA government’s policies and has been trying to rally people against it ever since BJP’s first term. He is highly educated with a Bachelor’s degree in Science and Law degree from Aligarh Muslim University. Tiwari has also been an advocate of farmer’s issues in the past. Currently he holds the post of Secretary of the All India Congress Committee and is actively involved in the ‘Nau Saal Nau Swal’ campaign.

The company mentioned in the article is Gautam Adani’s firms. Gautam Adani is an Indian billionaire and the founder of the Adani Group, a global integrated infrastructure company. He has managed the Adani group since 1988 and began to expand the business rapidly by leveraging the energy needs of India. This has led to certain pressures on the Adani group and its operations within India.
