Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s sustained efforts have led to the World Health Organization (WHO) establishing its Global Centre for Traditional Medicine (GCTM) in Jamnagar, Gujarat. This centre is aimed at combining the benefits of ancient knowledge with modern technology. External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar has stated that the establishment of this centre in India has opened up opportunities for research centres to promote Ayurveda, India’s traditional medicine. The WHO’s primary objective is to develop and enhance traditional medicine worldwide through modern science. EAM S Jaishankar recently visited the Badarpur Eco Park as part of his Vikas Tirth Yatra to inspect the development of infrastructure projects. He noted the importance of infrastructure development for generating employment, including the 59-kilometre elevated highway at Badarpur that will benefit over 500,000 people.
