Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of favouring big industrialists and mocking his party whenever it proposes policies to help the poor. Speaking to media in New Delhi, Kharge claimed that while PM Modi has no problem providing concessions for wealthy businessmen and relieving them of debt, he has issues with the Congress’ policies to help the poor. The Congress leader went further to allege that the fire sale of national assets and public sector units (PSUs) to crony capitalist friends was the single biggest anti-national act. Kharge slammed the nine-year tenure of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming it has not done the country any good, that it has plundered public money and made essential items such as education difficult to attain.
