Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently reached out to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu to inquire about the damage caused by heavy rains and floods in the state. The Chief Minister informed the Prime Minister about the severe impact of the flooding and requested assistance from the Central government in dealing with the natural calamity.

The torrential rains have resulted in widespread destruction across the region, with at least 17 lives lost and property worth thousands of crore being swept away. In response to the Chief Minister’s concerns, the Prime Minister assured him of all possible assistance.

The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for dispatching the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to aid in rescue operations. He also appealed for a special economic package to support the state’s recovery process, to which the Prime Minister positively responded.

Additionally, BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda, who hails from Himachal Pradesh, spoke with the Chief Minister to assess the damages and gather information about relief and rescue efforts.

The state government is actively engaged in providing aid to those affected by the floods, including essential supplies and efforts to airlift stranded individuals once the weather conditions improve. While closely monitoring the situation, the state government is also addressing damages caused to roads, water supply, and electricity.

The Prime Minister’s inquiry and assurance of assistance reflect the government’s commitment to supporting Himachal Pradesh during this challenging time. The Chief Minister’s request for economic aid is an important step toward facilitating the state’s recovery process.

The heavy rainfall and subsequent floods have significantly disrupted the lives of many in Himachal Pradesh. It is crucial for the government to continue providing extensive support to affected individuals and areas, as well as focus on rebuilding and restoring infrastructure. The deployment of NDRF personnel highlights the importance of collaborative efforts in mitigating the damage caused by natural disasters.

As the state works towards its recovery, it is hoped that the combined efforts of the Central and state governments will help alleviate the difficulties faced by the people of Himachal Pradesh. Cooperation and assistance from all levels will be vital in rebuilding the affected areas and ensuring the safety and well-being of the residents.
