Plymouth Argyle fans can expect a busy player recruitment period as the Pilgrims prepare to return to the Championship after a 13-year absence. Steven Schumacher, the first team coach, has seen some players, including striker Niall Ennis and defender James Wilson, move elsewhere this summer. Additionally, some players whose contracts have expired or those who were on loan at the club have also left.

The EFL will release the fixture list for the 2023/24 Championship campaign on June 22, and the Pilgrims’ fans are eagerly awaiting the announcement. The Carabao Cup first-round draw will also be revealed on the same day.

Argyle will start pre-season training on June 28.,with an initial set of fitness tests before leaving for a training camp at the Marbella Football Centre in southern Spain on July 2.

Chris Errington, a journalist with Plymouth Live with over 26 years of experience covering the club, is set to answer fans’ questions about the Pilgrims in a Q&A session this lunchtime at 12:30 pm.

The summer transfer window is expected to be a crucial period for the club as they prepare to assemble a competitive team for the upcoming season. Fans are hopeful that the club’s hierarchy will make appropriate recruitment decisions and build on last season’s success, which saw them clinch promotion from League One.

Excitement is high among supporters, and the upcoming fixtures announcement provides an opportunity to plan their travels to support the team. Meanwhile, the players’ fitness tests and subsequent training camp will allow the squad to train intensively and get to know each other better, with recent incoming signings included.

Overall, Pilgrim fans are eagerly anticipating the start of the 2023/24 Championship campaign, and they can’t wait to see the club compete at a higher level and achieve greater success.
