A Pittsfield man has been charged with murder following a fatal stabbing incident, as reported by the Pittsfield police. Josiah Helmer, a resident of Pittsfield, was taken into custody after allegedly carrying out the stabbing on Tuesday, September 12. The victim’s name has not yet been disclosed by the police.
Authorities responded to a distress call at approximately 10:45 p.m. at the intersection of Melville and First Streets. Upon arrival, they discovered an individual severely injured and bleeding. Paramedics swiftly transported the victim to Berkshire Medical Center, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his wounds and passed away.
