This job opportunity requires United States citizenship. As a candidate, you must hold a degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree from an approved educational institution. Additionally, you should possess a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a US state, territory, or Commonwealth, or in the District of Columbia. Moreover, completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty training program is necessary, which should make you eligible for board certification.
Preferred experience includes being board eligible or board certified, as well as having Chief of Surgery or executive leadership experience. This position falls under the Physician Qualification Standard, as outlined by the VA Regulations.
The physical requirements of the job are relatively light, including the ability to lift and carry objects weighing under 15 pounds, as well as the ability to use both hands and legs simultaneously. Good vision and color distinction skills are also expected.
