A Phnom Penh man has appeared in court, charged with the murder of his wife, who was 4 months pregnant. Yon Kuy Heng, male, 33 years old, living in house No. 168, Street KS03, Borey Kour Srov 3, Sangkat Rolous, Khan Dangkor, Phnom Penh, is accused of committing the murder of his wife – whom was estranged from him – on the afternoon of March 2, 2023. Defendant Yun Kuy Heng, 38, was charged with three offenses: aggravated murder, second possession of a weapon without permission, and third use of an illegal possession of drugs. During the trial, the accused, Yon Kuy Heng, refused to answer questions from judges, councilors and prosecutors, only stating that It brings remorse. The President of the Trial Chamber, Mr. Horm Mengse, will announce the verdict on March 22, 2024.
