Phillips 66® Teams Up with KC Parks and Rec to Fuel Homegrown Talent
KANSAS CITY, Mo., April 2, 2024– Phillips 66® has partnered with KC Parks and Rec to invest $100,000 in revitalizing the basketball courts in Parade Park, Kansas City. The initiative aims to nurture future Big 12 athletes by providing safer sports access at the grassroots level. The project includes resurfacing the courts, installing fencing, and upgrading hoops and nets to create a secure and functional space for the community.
Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas expressed his appreciation for this collaboration, emphasizing the importance of every child having access to high-quality recreational facilities in their neighborhood. The project aligns with the city’s broader redevelopment plan for Parade Park Homes, which will introduce over 1,000 new housing units to the area.
Through the GO GO GO campaign, Phillips 66® showcases its commitment to supporting local communities beyond major sports events. By enhancing the Parade Park courts, the company aims to foster inclusivity and opportunity for athletes of all levels. The project is set to be completed by the summer, with a community event planned for the unveiling to celebrate the enhanced facilities and increased access to sports for youth in Kansas City.
