The Haj nutrition campaign specifically targets Haj pilgrims who often struggle with making healthy dietary choices while traveling. To address this issue, the PFA launched an extensive dietary guidance campaign at three international airports in Punjab: Lahore, Multan, and Faisalabad.
During the campaign, PFA teams engaged with over 24,000 passengers through 54 flights at Lahore airport, 16 flights with 4,400 pilgrims at Multan, and nine flights with 2,625 pilgrims at Faisalabad airport. The teams provided detailed dietary guidance, including anthropometric measurements and diet planning, to over 12,000 pilgrims. This initiative not only benefits the pilgrims themselves but also the airport security staff and other officials.

With the upcoming festival of Eidul Azha, where people traditionally consume large amounts of meat and fat, the authority took proactive steps to address the potential health risks associated with excessive consumption.
The PFA set up nutrition help desks and distributed brochures at cattle markets and shopping malls, where footfall increases significantly during the festive season. These awareness campaigns emphasized the importance of adequate water intake, moderate consumption of meat, and the use of appropriate amounts of salt, spices, and fats. Specific precautions were also provided for patients with uric acid and heart diseases.
All of these endeavors are part of a broader effort by the PFA to replace unhealthy eating habits with healthier ones. By targeting key events such as religious pilgrimages and festivals, the authority hopes to make a lasting impact on the dietary choices and overall health of the people of Punjab.
