PetVivo Announces Successful Results from Spryng Clinical Study for Dogs with Cruciate Ligament Rupture

PetVivo Holdings, Inc., a leading biomedical device company specializing in innovative medical devices and therapeutics for companion animals, has recently released promising results from a clinical study conducted by Ethos Veterinary Health. The study focused on the examination of the benefit and tolerability of an intra-articular injection of Spryng with OsteoCushion Technology, a collagen-elastin biomaterial, into the stifle joint of dogs with suspected cruciate ligament rupture.

The results of the study will be presented by Dr. Erik Kleeman, DVM, at the annual conference of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS). The primary objective of the study was to determine whether Spryng injection could significantly reduce pain, as measured by the modified Glasgow Composite Pain Scale. A reduction in pain of 25% or greater would be considered a beneficial response.

The clinical study enrolled dogs diagnosed with a partial or complete cranial cruciate ligament tear, which is similar to an ACL tear in humans. Throughout the study period, significant improvements were observed in all primary and secondary clinical variables, including pain, lameness, and quality of life scoring.

We were pleased to have the final results of the Spryng clinical study presented at the ACVS annual conference, as this data demonstrates the efficacy of this product as an excellent, non-invasive alternative for patients with cranial cruciate disease, said John Lai, Chief Executive Officer of PetVivo Holdings, Inc. He further added, We continue to strive to provide data demonstrating that Spryng is a viable tool to use in the management of joint-related afflictions, thereby enhancing the lives of companion animals and their owners.

Spryng is an injectable veterinary medical device that consists of millions of micronized extracellular matrix particles derived from natural components such as collagen and elastin. The OsteoCushion Technology of Spryng provides reinforcing natural joint support to augment missing and damaged cartilage while also acting as a natural scaffolding to address tissue defects. This makes it an ideal solution for managing lameness and joint afflictions, including osteoarthritis, in companion animals through a simple in-clinic administration.

The positive findings from the clinical study indicate that Spryng is a reasonable and effective non-invasive alternative for patients with cranial cruciate disease, especially when surgical intervention is not feasible due to patient or owner factors.

PetVivo Holdings, Inc. is committed to leveraging human therapies for the treatment of companion animals in a capital and time-efficient manner. The company has a robust pipeline of products for the treatment of both animals and humans, with a portfolio of nineteen patents protecting its biomaterials, products, production processes, and methods of use.

The results of the Spryng clinical study offer hope for pet owners who are seeking effective and non-invasive treatment options for their dogs suffering from cruciate ligament rupture. The innovative technology of Spryng has the potential to enhance the lives of companion animals, providing them with improved mobility and a higher quality of life.
