The Patna-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express has successfully completed its third trial run and will officially begin commercial operation on June 28th. The East Central Railway confirmed that the Express, which had eight coaches, successfully completed its run from Patna to Ranchi. The semi-high-speed train’s first two trial runs were conducted on June 12th and June 18th respectively. The Express covers a 27-kilometre stretch between Sidhwar (Ramgarh) and Sanki (Ranchi) that comprises four tunnels, with the longest one being 1.7-kilometres in length and three others around 600 metres each, making for an exciting and picturesque journey for passengers.
Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) in Kolkata inspected the train and approved it for operationalisation last December.
Traveling from Patna junction around 7 am Sunday morning, the Express arrived in Ranchi around 12.50 pm and departed for almost six hours later arriving back to its origin in Patna. The Express is expected to be fully operational for passengers starting on June 28th, marking a significant milestone in railway transport in the region.
The Patna-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express is expected to provide a more comfortable and faster alternative to travel between the two cities, and also contribute to economic growth and prosperity by improving connectivity. The new train service is projected to significantly reduce travel time and make travel more accessible and pleasant for commuters, which will increase demand for rail travel in India.
Overall, the introduction of the Patna-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express is a significant development and represents one of the largest modernization efforts in Indian rail history. It is a notable addition to India’s growing high-speed rail infrastructure, which will spur growth, create job opportunities, and result in an overall enhancement in the quality of transportation services.
