A passenger who took a trip in 2021 to see the Titanic on the missing submersible has said that the small vessel ‘was not safe’. Arthur Loibl told Sky News that everyone was nervous during his trip to visit the world-famous shipwreck in 2021. Loibl explained that the Titan took two-and-a-half hours to reach the bottom and another 20 minutes to reach the shipwreck, and then spent about three hours exploring the wreck before starting the two-and-a-half-hour return journey. Loibl also said that other excursions had experienced problems with the vessel’s battery systems at around 5,200 ft deep and had to return to the surface. His comments came as a major search continues for the missing sub, which was due to run out of oxygen supply on Thursday (UK time). The conditions inside the sub were challenging, according to Loibl, who added that there were no seats inside, and five people had to sit tightly together, with their legs cramped up for 10 and a half hours. He described the experience as very, very cold.
