Delhi Police Takes Parliament Security Breach Accused to Assembling Spots at India Gate, Sadar Bazar
The Delhi Police Special Cell has taken the accused involved in the recent security breach at the Parliament to the locations where they assembled and purchased items before the incident took place on December 13. According to sources, Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D were brought to Sadar Bazar, where they bought Indian flags, and India Gate, where they gathered before entering the Parliament. Prior to the breach, the suspects distributed flags and smoke canisters at India Gate. The investigation also took the accused to Maharani Bagh in New Friends colony, where they held a meeting to discuss their plan. This move is aimed at establishing a clear sequence of events leading up to the breach.
The Delhi Police arrested six individuals, namely Sagar Sharma, Manoranjan D, Neelam, Amol Shinde, Lalit Jha, and Mahesh Kumawat, for their alleged involvement in the Parliament security breach. All six have been charged under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
The breach occurred on the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament terror attack when Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the public gallery during Zero Hour. They released yellow gas from canisters, shouted slogans, and were eventually overpowered by Members of Parliament. Simultaneously, outside the Parliament premises, Amol Shinde and Neelam Devi sprayed colored gas from canisters while chanting tanashahi nahi chalegi (no more dictatorship).
The Delhi Police has now applied to the court for permission to conduct a polygraph test, also known as a lie detector test, on the accused individuals. They are in police custody until January 5.
