Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has stirred outrage among fans after removing Kylian Mbappe’s poster from the Parc des Princes. The move comes as the French striker is locked in a contract dispute with the defending Ligue 1 champions.

A video that surfaced on social media showed the club’s official store devoid of any Mbappe jerseys on sale. In addition, the clip revealed staff members taking down Mbappe’s poster from the facade of the team’s home stadium. These actions have not been well received by football fans, who took to Twitter to express their anger.

Mbappe, who recently expressed his unwillingness to extend his contract with PSG beyond 2024, has become a target for Real Madrid. The Spanish giants have emerged as the likeliest destination for the talented forward, who currently holds the record for the most goals scored by a PSG player with 212 goals in 260 games.

PSG, fearful of losing Mbappe on a free transfer next year, has slapped a €200 million price tag on the 22-year-old. Reports suggest that Mbappe may face consequences for his refusal to sign a new contract, with rumors circulating that he will be dropped from the squad for the team’s Ligue 1 opener against Lorient.

Fans took to social media to voice their frustration over the situation, with some criticizing PSG for failing to honor Mbappe’s existing contract. One tweet read, PSG is a pathetic club, and even worse fans. Real offered 200 million for Mbappe, they didn’t let him go, gave him a lot of money and a contract, and now they don’t want to honor that contract because he will not sign a new one. Pathetic.

Despite the tensions, some supporters remain hopeful that Mbappe will ultimately stay in Paris. The fate of Mbappe’s image at the Parc des Princes remains uncertain, as it is unclear if a new poster featuring the young star will be displayed.

Journalist Julien Laurens has claimed that Mbappe is adamant about leaving PSG and will reject any offer, regardless of the amount of money involved. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that the striker recently turned down an offer from PSG that included a guaranteed exit clause in 2024. It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid will meet PSG’s asking price this summer or wait to sign Mbappe on a free transfer next year.

With Real Madrid seeking a long-term replacement for Karim Benzema, who recently moved to Al-Ittihad, Mbappe appears to be president Florentino Perez’s priority transfer target. As the situation unfolds, fans eagerly await the resolution of the standoff between Mbappe and PSG.
