The Pakistan Hajj Medical Mission’s main hospital in Aziziyah, in collaboration with Saudi authorities, has been providing medical facilities to over 5,000 pilgrims daily. In addition to the main hospital, there are nine dispensaries staffed by 521 doctors and paramedical professionals providing free medical assistance to the Hajj pilgrims. Pakistani pilgrims are housed in nine sectors, each with its own dispensaries that are open 24/7 to serve their needs. Many of the pilgrims have pre-existing medical conditions such as diabetes, asthma, hypertension, and heart ailments, requiring frequent medical care throughout their stay in Makkah and Madinah.

Brig Dr. Shahamad Ali, Director of Pakistan Hajj Medical Mission, explained that the 32-bed hospital was equipped with modern facilities such as a state-of-the-art laboratory, X-ray machine, pharmacy, and dentistry services. He advised pilgrims to stay hydrated by consuming sufficient water and fluids throughout the day and taking deep rest. People with medical issues should continue taking their prescribed medications.

Dr. Atta ur Rehman, a medical officer at the Pakistan Hajj Medical Mission Hospital, informed the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) that 18 serious patients, including cardiac cases, were referred to Saudi hospitals, with ten of them having recovered, and the rest still receiving treatment. Dr. Atta expressed his gratitude to the Saudi Ministry of Health and other relevant authorities for the prompt provision of medical facilities to Pakistani pilgrims. Fourteen ambulances are available, with one stationed at each sector for quick transportation of serious cases to the hospital.

Muhammad Asad Ibrar, a pharmacist, confirmed that the hospital had adequate medications and essential medical supplies to meet the needs of patients. The Pakistan Hajj Medical Mission is working tirelessly with its partner in Saudi Arabia to ensure the safety and well-being of Pakistani pilgrims. The medical staff is committed and ready to assist the pilgrims with all their healthcare needs. The mission continues to work towards its goal of ensuring the safe return of all Pakistani pilgrims from Hajj.
